Carton and pallet strapping

Strapping on coils, with the tools to apply it

Polypropylene strapping (PP)

Polypropylene for cartons, PET for heavy pallets, steel for very heavy or aggressive loads. We tell you the width, thickness and core that fit your machine or hand tool.

Materials
PP, PET, steel, woven
Cores
200 and 406 mm
Tools
Manual, battery, pneumatic

Four materials, four jobs

The right strap depends on load weight, how it is applied and the tool. We supply all four.

Polypropylene strapping (PP)
01

Polypropylene strapping (PP)

The usual choice to close and bundle cartons. Flexible and light, applied by hand or in an automatic strapping machine. White, black or coloured to flag a customer or a flow.

  • Widths: data to be supplied
  • 200 or 406 mm core to suit the machine
  • Embossed or smooth
Polyester strapping (PET)
02

Polyester strapping (PET)

The alternative to steel on pallets: it holds tension over time, does not rust and does not cut hands when unpacking. Green, as it is most often found.

  • Break strength: data to be supplied
  • Manual or battery tool
  • Metal seal or friction weld
Steel strapping
03

Steel strapping

For heavy, sharp or hot loads: metal, sawn timber, bricks, sections. Blued or galvanised, ribbon wound or oscillated coils.

  • Blued, waxed or galvanised
  • Ribbon wound or oscillated
  • Applied with seals and sealer
Woven strapping
04

Woven strapping

Woven or composite polyester strap closed with a buckle. Handy on site or for export when there is no machine.

  • Matching metal buckles
  • No power tool needed
  • Widths: data to be supplied

Colours to sort by

PP comes in white, black, blue, yellow, green or red. One colour per customer, dock or carrier: pickers know at a glance without reading the label.

Application tools

The right strap badly tensioned will not hold. We suggest the tool that matches the material and the number of pallets per day.

Manual steel tensioner
01

Manual steel tensioner

Tensions steel strap before the seal is applied.

Sealer
02

Sealer

Crimps the seal onto steel strap in one move.

Seals
03

Seals

Open or closed, matched to strap width.

Manual combination tool
04

Manual combination tool

Tensions, seals and cuts with one tool. For moderate volumes.

Pneumatic tensioner
05

Pneumatic tensioner

For workshops strapping in series, on compressed air.

Pneumatic combination tool
06

Pneumatic combination tool

Tension and sealless joint at high throughput.

Strapping a pallet so it holds

Strapping a pallet so it holds

On a pallet, strapping holds the load instead of, or alongside, stretch film. Usually two straps one way, sometimes two the other. Tension is set for the load, not to the maximum.

  • Heavy, rigid loadsBricks, blocks, timber, metal: steel or PET.
  • Cartons and bundlesPP, often with edge protectors.
  • With stretch filmFilm stabilises, strap holds. They work together.

Frequently asked questions

PET or steel for a heavy pallet?

PET replaces steel in many cases: it holds tension, does not rust and is safe to cut. Steel remains the choice for sharp, very hot or hard edged loads.

Which core do I need?

It depends on your machine or dispenser. 200 mm is mostly for manual work, 406 mm for machines. Give us the model if you have it and we will check.

Do I need seals with PET?

For manual work, yes, with a sealer. Battery tools weld PET by friction, no seal needed.

Can I get a specific colour?

PP comes in several colours. Availability and minimums: data to be supplied.

Do you supply a dispenser?

Yes, on request. It keeps the coil off the floor and speeds up the job.
